Allergy Testing (Food & Airborne Testing)

Thorough Examinations and Treatment

Have you been itching, sneezing, coughing, wheezing, or experiencing similar symptoms? If so, you may be having an allergic reaction to something in your environment. Here at our Bellevue urgent care clinic, Harpeth Valley Health Center, we can determine what type of allergies you have through minimally invasive testing that only lasts about 20 to 30 minutes. This testing involves applying small amounts of potential allergens to your system and then checking to see if they result in any inflammation (an allergic reaction).

Once we find a positive response, we can then create a custom serum that will serve as your immune therapy treatment. Through this treatment, your body builds a higher level of tolerance to the allergens, which allows you to significantly minimize your symptoms and live a more comfortable life.

Allergies – A Common Health Concern in the U.S.

If you are struggling with allergies, you are definitely not alone! According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), allergies are the 6th most common chronic illness in the nation, and they affect more than 50 million Americans every year. They also result in more than $18 billion in annual healthcare costs.

The three different types of allergies include:

  • Inhaled allergies – This involves an allergic reaction to airborne allergens that are breathed in, such as animal dander and pollen. This is the most common type of allergy.
  • Ingested allergies – These are allergies to specific types of foods or ingredients. Common food allergens include eggs, cow’s milk, fruits, and nuts.
  • Contact allergies – With contact allergies (or contact dermatitis), a person will have an allergic reaction when his or her skin comes into contact with certain products, such as certain types of detergents or cosmetic products.

If you suspect that you may have allergies that have gone undiagnosed, schedule an appointment for testing at our clinic! Allergy testing is covered by most insurance companies, including Medicare. Give us a call today at (615) 646-1003.

Please note that we are a non-narcotic office.
